Trades Assistant – Riverland
We are currently seeking a Casual Trades Assistant to join our team at the Murtho Packinghouse, located in the Riverland, SA. This role is a great opportunity to get hands-on, supporting our maintenance operations and assisting qualified tradespeople with mechanical and fabrication work across our packing operations.
What You'll Do:
- Getting your hands dirty assisting with machinery maintenance and workshop jobs
- Greasing and lubricating equipment to keep the packing lines running
- Pitching in with fabrication, welding prep and simple mechanical repairs
- Keeping the workshop in top shape – clean, safe and organised
- Helping track tools and parts so the team always has what they need
- Supporting
other operations when required
What You'll Bring:
- A positive attitude, willingness to learn and a strong work ethic
- Basic mechanical or hands-on experience (e.g. maintenance, farming, machinery, fabrication)
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Physically fit and able to work safely in a fast-paced environment
- Forklift licence or willingness to obtain one (advantageous)
- Valid
driver’s licence and reliable transport to Murtho site
Key Challenges:
- Communicating effectively with a variety of team members, including trades, operators, and supervisors
- Staying safety-focused while working around machinery, vehicles, and tools
- Being
flexible and ready to support unplanned repairs or breakdowns
