Tractor Spray Operator - Tasmania

We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable Tractor Spray Operator to join our Maintenance Team at our Berry Farm in Dunorlan, Tasmania.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in a supportive agricultural environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Safely operating tractors and spray units for the accurate application of approved sprays to berry crops
  • Operating slashing and mulching equipment
  • Conducting routine equipment checks and preventative maintenance
  • Preparing spray mixtures, including insecticides, fungicides, and herbicides, in accordance with procedures
  • Wearing and maintaining appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Cleaning and washing down machinery to required standards
  • Maintaining accurate spray records, equipment logs, and stocktake documentation
  • Assisting with the calibration of equipment and machinery
  • Working flexible shifts, including day and night shift operations as required

Work is available on a casual basis and is dependent on seasonal demands and weather conditions.

All employees will receive full training relevant to their role and duties. In some cases, a Work Health and Safety (WHS) assessment may also be required to ensure employees can safely perform the duties of the role.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • A current driver's licence
  • Agricultural experience (advantageous but not essential)
  • Experience operating machinery
  • Strong communication and record-keeping skills
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and problem-solving abilities
  • The ability to work effectively within a team
  • A willingness to learn new skills
  • Basic written and spoken English skills
  • Basic computer and digital technology skills
  • Good planning and time management abilities
  • A reliable, punctual, and positive work ethic

Please note that some duties may involve physical work, including standing, walking, repetitive movements, lifting, and working in varying weather conditions.
