Location: Guyra, NSW 2365
Employer: Costa Group – Glasshouse Operations
Remuneration: $68,863.50 per annum total package (includes $140/week Agricultural Technician Allowance) for full-time employment (average 38 hrs/week).
Costa is Australia’s leading fresh produce grower. At our Guyra Glasshouses, we produce premium tomatoes in a large‑scale, high‑technology glasshouse environment.
We are seeking an experienced Task Leader (Technical) to join our Glasshouse team.
About the Role
As a Task Leader (Technical), you will lead a team of crop or harvest workers while also applying a higher level of technical knowledge and judgement in a commercial glasshouse environment.
You will work alongside your team for part of the day, and for the remainder of your time you will focus on coaching, supervising, quality checking, and identifying and addressing crop or operational issues before they escalate.
Key responsibilities include:
· Supervise and coordinate glasshouse production and/or harvest teams
· Lead daily pre‑start meetings, allocate tasks, and monitor progress against work targets
· Provide on‑the‑job coaching and guidance to support productivity, quality and safe work practices
· Monitor crop conditions and day‑to‑day operations within assigned areas
· Identify early signs of crop, pest, disease or system issues and report findings to support timely corrective action
· Conduct routine quality checks and ensure standards are maintained during operations
· Assist with labour planning and effective deployment of teams to meet production needs
· Maintain a safe, respectful and productive work environment
· Contribute to continuous improvement activities and operational trials
About You
You will have experience working in horticulture, agriculture or glasshouse production and be confident leading people in a hands‑on production environment.
You will bring:
· Experience leading or supervising teams in a commercial horticulture or agricultural setting
· Practical knowledge of glasshouse crop production, plant health, pests and diseases, crop hygiene and systems
· Strong communication skills, including the ability to train and coach people from diverse cultural and language backgrounds
· Good judgement and problem‑solving skills
· A willingness to continue developing your technical and leadership capability through training and on‑the‑job learning
· A strong commitment to safety, quality and respectful behaviour
Formal qualifications are valued, but demonstrated capability and practical experience are equally important.
