Who we’re looking for:

The Table Grape Assistant Manager will be directly responsible for the safe, timely and accurate implementation of critical agronomical programs and farm operations to meet production targets set by the Table Grape Manager.

What you’ll be doing:

The Table Grape Assistant Manager will directly manage a team of tractor/spray operators and ensure work performance and outputs are consistently maintained.  

Other responsibilities:

  • Ensure the health and wellbeing of staff, contractors and seasonal labour on the Farm.  
  • Align harvest and operational activities with concurrent farm programs and seasonal priorities.
  • Directly manage and coach front line staff to ensure appropriate work and training systems, processes and procedures are in place and address any identified gaps as a matter of priority.
  • Project manage the redevelopment of vineyards and establishment of new varietal areas.
  • Develop evidence based Capital Expenditure funding proposals.
  • Maintain current knowledge of agronomic research and development.

What you’ll bring to the role:

We’re looking for someone with…

  • Diploma in Horticulture or equivalent would be highly regarded.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a Table Grape vineyard.
  • Knowledge of Table Grape vineyard cultivation and crop manipulation/protection. 
  • Mechanical aptitude to undertake basic diagnosis and repair of farm equipment.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word and Excel). Well-developed interpersonal and social skills with the ability to communicate with people at all levels.
