Quality Control Officer - Grape

We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Officer to act as the Costa on-site quality lead at the third-party distribution and pre‑pack operation during the 2026 import grape season, based in Derrimut, Victoria.

What we are looking for:

The role will maintain Costa’s quality standards, ensure compliance to specifications, and provide clear communication between the site, and internal quality, commercial and supply teams. The role will safeguard product quality outcomes while supporting efficient distribution and pre‑pack operations.

What you’ll do:

  • Quality Oversight & Compliance: Monitor incoming grape inspections and daily despatches to ensure alignment with customer, market, and Costa specifications, including labelling and traceability.
  • Defect, Risk & Continuous Improvement: Identify defect drivers and quality risks, escalate issues, support root cause analysis, and contribute solutions and performance feedback.
  • Process & Cold Chain Standards: Ensure packing, dispatch, temperature control, and handling practices meet agreed standards and work instructions.
  • Coordination, Documentation & Stakeholder Liaison: Maintain accurate QC records, act as the on-site Costa contact, and coordinate with growers, logistics, and commercial teams to ensure correct product allocation.

What you’ll bring:

  • Proven experience in grape quality control (import or domestic), with strong knowledge of physiology, defects, and maturity standards.
  • Experience in fast-paced packing environments, with the ability to work independently as the on-site Costa representative.
  • Clear communication skills and familiarity with quality documentation, inspection tools, and pack line processes.
