Our team is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Production Line Supervisor to join our compassionate team on a full-time basis in Emerald, QLD.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and confident Production Line Supervisor to lead daily operations on one of our citrus packing lines. This role is the most senior operational authority on the line during the shift and is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, compliant, and high‑quality production outcomes.
You will lead people, manage real‑time decision‑making, and ensure fruit is graded, packed, and dispatched to specification while balancing safety, throughput, yield, cost, and customer requirements.
During the off‑season, this role will also support wider packhouse operations through cleaning, maintenance preparation, and general operational assistance as required. A strong team‑player mindset is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and control all aspects of the production line including start‑ups, changeovers, shutdowns, and emergency stops.
- Operate and adjust Tomra Spectrim / LUCAi grading systems to maximise value and maintain accurate specifications.
- Ensure all packed fruit meets customer, market, and brand standards, stopping production when required.
- Maintain safe operations by enforcing WHS requirements and responding immediately to unsafe conditions.
- Direct and support floor supervisors, ensuring stations are resourced, briefed, and aligned.
- Monitor waste, juice loss, packaging usage, and rework to minimise cost and inefficiency.
- Coordinate with QA, Maintenance, Logistics, and other key internal stakeholders.
- Prepare accurate shift reports covering downtime, pack-outs, throughput, quality issues, and risks.
- Deliver strong handovers to the next shift to ensure continuity and stability.
About You
You are a calm, decisive leader with experience supervising production or packing operations in FMCG, food manufacturing, or fresh produce. You thrive in fast‑paced environments, communicate clearly, and can lead under pressure.
You will bring:
- Experience supervising a production line or team.
- Strong communication and people‑leadership skills.
- Knowledge of fruit quality, grading, or fresh produce packing (citrus advantageous).
- Experience with optical grading equipment (Spectrim/LUCAi) highly regarded.
- Sound judgement, disciplined escalation, and high accountability.
- Ability to adapt, use initiative, and manage continual change.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Year 12 education (or equivalent).
- First Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain).
