The Horticultural team are looking for an energetic, self-starter to join our world class team. This is a casual, seasonal role based across our Far North Queensland sites; Tolga, Rangeview, and Walkamin. As one of the largest employers on the Atherton Tablelands, we have a lot to offer, career progression and on-going work may be available for the right candidate.

About the Role

In this role you will be responsible for day-to-day pest and disease scouting of the blueberry crops across all 3 sites (Tolga, Rangeview, Walkamin and Paddys Green), with a focus on maintaining plant health and function. A strong ability to work autonomously is required for this role.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring & reporting of insects and disease in blueberry blocks
  • Weekly inspection and maintenance of insect traps
  • Accurate record keeping and updating of relevant files
  • Assistance in data collection from field trials as required

About Your

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Be self-motivated and enjoy working as part of a team
  • Be highly diligent with strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised and follow instruction
  • Good time management skills
  • Reasonable computer literacy (Excel)
  • Experience in horticulture advantageous
  • Driver’s license essential and own transport
