About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a Pest and Disease Scout to join our Berry team at Corindi, NSW on a permanent full-time basis.

Reporting to the Horticulturist, this role plays an important part in supporting healthy, productive berry crops through effective pest and disease monitoring, integrated pest management activities, and accurate reporting. You will work across our blueberry, raspberry and blackberry production systems, helping to identify emerging risks and support decision-making that protects crop health, yield and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine pest and disease scouting across blueberry, raspberry and blackberry crops
• Monitor, service and record data from insect traps as part of integrated pest management programs
• Assist with the release and monitoring of beneficial insects
• Accurately identify and report pests, diseases and crop health issues
• Communicate findings and emerging risks to the Horticulturist
• Support field trials and data collection activities
• Maintain accurate scouting records, observations and reporting documentation
• Adhere to Costa's Work Health and Safety, Food Safety and Quality requirements
• Foster positive working relationships and demonstrate Costa values in all activities

Skills and Experience

• Qualification in Horticulture, Agriculture or a related discipline is desirable
• Passion for horticulture, plant health and crop production systems
• Knowledge of pest and disease management principles is advantageous
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with field data
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel or similar systems
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to perform field-based work in varying outdoor conditions
• Current driver's licence
