About the opportunity:

We are currently seeking an experienced and high-performing business leader for the position of National Operations Manager - Berries. This Senior Leadership role will report directly to the General Manager – Berry Category and is responsible for supporting our Regional Managers to achieve the best performance in their regions.

This exciting role will have all regional managers reporting through to them and will be involved in providing support with day-to-day operations, as well as longer term business planning. This role forms part of the Berry Category Senior Leadership Team and works closely with the finance, HR, horticulture and projects senior leaders to ensure all business objectives are met.

About the role:

The National Operations Manager - Berries will have the key following accountabilities;

- People Leadership - Provide inspired leadership for the organization helping to promote a company culture which encourages top performance and high morale. In addition, support talent development, structure design and succession planning across regions to promote business performance.

- Safety – Ensure that Health & Safety remains the top priority for all operational activities. When incidents occur ensure that all reporting and investigation requirements are met and learnings are shared across the business.

- Operations – Responsible for the ongoing successful execution of all business operations by supporting regional leaders as needed.

- Strategy and business planning - Work with the General Manager and leadership team to develop and implement a successful business strategy, anticipating complex issues, challenges and opportunities, and ensuring integration with wider functional strategy.

- Budgeting development and monitoring – work with regional leaders, the General Manager and the Financial Controller to develop budgets in line with budget cycles, and monitoring performance against budgets

About you:

To be successful in this role you will have significant experience of general business leadership at a senior level (more than 10 years). You will be competent in developing strategic plans and budgets, and will have a high level understanding of team development and support.

In addition, you should have:

  • The ability to ensure accountability within your teams
  • Skills to communicate effectively with a range of people in the business
  • The ability to make sound decisions in challenging circumstances
  • Skills to coach others around you to develop their best performance
  • Strong financial acumen demonstrated within an ASX listed business
  • A calm head in challenging circumstances
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

The role will involve travel domestically to our berry sites, therefore the ability to travel is essential.
