Logistics Team Leader
Costa Group is one of Australia’s leading fresh produce growers, committed to supplying high‑quality fruit to global markets. We are currently seeking an experienced Logistics Team Leader to join our Vitor Grapes & Citrus division, based in Renmark, South Australia.
This is a pivotal leadership role within our Logistics team, responsible for coordinating and leading export logistics activities across citrus and grapes, ensuring efficient, compliant and on‑time shipment outcomes.
About the Role
Reporting to the Export Documents and Logistics Manager, you will lead a small logistics team and work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to manage end‑to‑end export logistics, including shipping, container movements and wharf cartage. This role is a full-time permanent opportunity.
A hands‑on role suited to someone who thrives in fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environments and enjoys solving logistical challenges.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and supporting the Logistics team to deliver daily export logistics outcomes
- Coordinating container releases, pickups, loading and deliveries to meet vessel cut‑off times
- Managing forward export orders and communicating shipment status to stakeholders
- Liaising with shipping lines, freight forwarders, transport companies, warehouses and pack houses
- Tracking shipping and associated costs, including late receival and compliance charges
- Preparing and distributing daily reports on rail and container delivery schedules
- Supporting export sales teams and resolving logistics issues as they arise
- Identifying and driving continuous improvement initiatives across export logistics processes
- Building strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
About You
You are a proactive and organised logistics professional with strong leadership capability and a practical understanding of export logistics operations.To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Sound knowledge of shipping and transport operations
- Proven experience coordinating container movements and export logistics
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams
- The ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Experience with BSM systems (desirable)
