About the opportunity: 

We are seeking a Horticulturist to join our team in Corindi, NSW. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their horticultural career to gain hands-on experience and develop skills in a supportive and innovative environment.

You will be responsible for the blueberry irrigation and nutrition in soil and substrate growing systems. The Irrigation and Nutrition Horticulturist will ensure proactive identification of issues that may have adverse effect on crop health and yield, and act decisively when seeking solutions and executing controls. At the heart of all effort is the improvement of plant health, longevity, and crop productivity.

About the role:

  • Monitor plant health, nutrition and irrigation.
  • Manage and analyse data, collect samples for nutrient analysis, collate and prepare reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of horticultural operations.
  • Provide strong technical guidance to irrigation teams to ensure best management strategies are adhered to.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Harvest and Horticulture teams to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and be open to learning new skills and approaches.

About you:

To be successful in this role you will have;

  • Horticultural or agricultural qualifications (Degree) or equivalent experience. 
  • Some experience in horticulture, agriculture, agronomy or a related field is desirable.
  • Willingness to learn problem-solving techniques in a horticultural setting.
  • Ability to influence and work alongside a diverse range of roles.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Organised and able to manage time and tasks effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
