About the Role
This is a hands‑on, field‑focused role ideal for an agronomist or horticulturalist who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys problem‑solving, and is passionate about raising farming standards through best‑practice technical programs.
As a key member of our technical team, you will:
- Lead the pest and disease program, including scouting oversight, weekly spray planning, and integrated pest management (IPM) implementation.
- Contribute to critical technical areas such as irrigation, nutrition, pest and disease, and canopy management, tailored to your expertise.
- Tackle operational challenges with urgency and a solutions mindset.
- Partner closely with production and operations teams to drive horticultural best management practices across the farm.
- Plan, prioritise, and execute field activities effectively.Support cross-functional learning and knowledge-sharing initiatives to lift team capability.
In this role, you’ll have ownership of day-to-day technical programs and will help ensure farming KPIs are consistently achieved. You will also engage with Costa International Horticulture Managers for guidance and participate in cross-departmental discussions to pursue the best possible outcomes.
Please note: The successful applicant must relocate to Paksong, Laos, and live locally for a minimum of two years to perform the role. Full support for relocation to Laos will be provided.
About you
You’ll bring a mix of technical skill, practical experience, and a willingness to immerse yourself in an international farming environment.
We’re looking for someone with:
- 3–4 years’ experience in horticultural farming operations.
- Current or recent experience as an agronomist or horticulturalist.
- Experience in berry horticulture (preferred but not essential).
- Strong knowledge of pest and disease management, including chemical actives, biologicals, and IPM programs.
- A genuine preference for field-based work.
- Excellent communication and the ability to work effectively across all levels of management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Initiative, reliability, and follow‑through.
- A willingness to challenge the status quo in pursuit of continual improvement.
- High attention to detail and strong observational skills.
- The ability and commitment to live and work in Paksong, Laos, within a diverse, multicultural team.
