We are looking for a Field Supervisor to join our Costa Banana team in Walkamin.
About the Role
This role is responsible for assisting in the management of the farm, which includes daily planning, organisation, and coordinating activities to ensure the highest possible yield and quality of fruit.
This role will directly support the Operations Manager to achieve horticultural objectives on farm.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to
- Assist with the management of growing operations to agreed budget.
- Ensure fruit is harvested within company guidelines.
- Plan operations with optimal timing, including harvesting, injecting, desuckering , stringing, bagging and deleafing.
- Monitor, manage & understand the crop & its needs.
- Ensure employees are proactive in their tasks, delivering quality and work in a safe manner.
- Recognise and take steps to resolve problems in order to minimize their impact on the operations.
- Encourage suggestions from employees which will improve yield, quality and safety.
- Plan & organising supplies with optimal timing.
- Implement and manage OHS &W systems and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with government regulations and health and safety standards.
- Keep accurate and up to date farm records on established templates.
All about you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- 2-5 years’ experience in a similar horticultural supervisory position
- Demonstrated ability to lead people/teams
- Problem solving skills
- Strong focus on achieving results
- Ability to work with a diverse range of people
- Solid grounding OHS&W principles
- Good computer and time management skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and team leading skills
