Who we’re looking for:

The role of Farm Hand is hands on and suits people who enjoy working outdoors. Previous Farm Hand experience would be advantageous but candidates with high energy and the aptitude and desire to be a fast learner will be considered. To be successful, you must be reliable and conscientious with a good work ethic and the ability to carry out instructions in a safe manner. The position is casual initially with permanent employment available for the right person. 

What you’ll be doing:

Reporting to the Citrus, Wine Grape & Avocado Manager, the Farm Hand will be based at Nangiloc Farm and will be primarily responsible for day-to-day farming operations including spraying, slashing, mulching and skirting.  The flexibility to work night shifts or weekends, as required, is essential to ensure seasonal and operational requirements are met.

Other responsibilities:

  • Operating tractor sprayer to perform herbicide and fungicide duties and other tractor work
  • Basic service and maintenance of farm equipment.
  • Mixing and handling chemicals.
  • General farm labour.
  • Willingness and flexibility to work night shifts or weekends when required.  

What you’ll bring to the role:

We’re looking for someone with…

  • Desire to grow a long term career in Horticulture.
  • Experience operating tractors and forklift.
  • Must have AusChem certificate or be willing to obtain one.
  • Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision.
  • Own reliable transport and current Driver’s License is essential.
