About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Technical Assistant to support our Citrus Production team across the Sunraysia region.
This hands-on field-based role will assist with orchard monitoring, crop assessments, data collection, and reporting activities that support citrus production, fruit quality, and harvest planning. The successful candidate will spend significant time in the orchard gathering information that helps drive production decisions and optimise crop outcomes.
What You'll Do
- Orchard Monitoring and Crop Assessment
- Conduct regular orchard inspections across citrus production areas.
- Monitor crop development and fruit maturity.
- Pest monitoring
- Assist with harvest readiness assessments and crop forecasting activities.
- Sampling and Data Collection
- Monitor fruit size
What You'll Bring
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to collecting and recording data.
- An interest in horticulture, agriculture, or citrus production.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks across multiple farm locations.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Intermediate computer skills and confidence using mobile devices and reporting systems.
- A commitment to workplace health and safety.
- A current driver's licence and reliable transport.
- Good physical fitness and the ability to walk orchards and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Desirable
- Previous experience in horticulture, citrus, crop monitoring, or related industries.
- Experience with data collection, reporting, or production monitoring.
- Knowledge of citrus production systems or pest monitoring programs.
