Casual Pest & Disease Scout - NSW

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct field scouting of all crop blocks as directed
  • Record and report findings of pests and diseases using field scouting sheets
  • Inspect and maintain insect traps on a weekly basis
  • Assist the technical team with data collection from field trials as required
  • Update files and complete documentation as directed
  • Support and comply with Costa Group’s Work Health and Safety, Food Safety, and Quality policies
  • Maintain accurate records and report any incidents, hazards, or food safety concerns
  • Foster and practice company values in all work activities
  • Perform other reasonable duties as required
Skills and Experience
  • Experience in agriculture or horticulture is desirable but not essential
  • Basic knowledge of pests and diseases affecting fruit crops (especially blueberries) is an advantage
  • Keen interest in plant health and entomology
  • Basic computer and Excel skills (training provided)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Current driver’s licence required
