Stores Coordinator - Guyra NSW


We are currently seeking an enthusiastic person to join our fantastic stores team supporting glasshouse and pack house operations in Guyra, NSW on a fulltime basis.

About the role:

In this role you will work as a part of team that ensures operational and customer requirements are met through the timely, efficient and accurate ordering, receipt, storage, distribution of stock and despatch of produce.

Key responsibilities include:

Effective management of consumables to meet the needs of the business including:

  • Organisation of the storage of materials, optimising use of available space, maximising shelf life, complying with MDS and legislative requirements for storage and handling.
  • Performance of weekly stocktakes/monitoring of consumables ensuring that stocks are adequate to meet operational requirements.
  • Providing weekly reports on consumables for the weekly P&L.
  • Performance and reporting of monthly stocktake.
  • Provision of weekly waste reports on cardboard usage.
  • Conduct stock rotation and other mechanisms to avoid stock wastage.
  • Management of ordering of consumables to maintain stock levels and minimise wastage.

Ensure proper receival and accounting for goods received including:

  • Unloading of all carriers/containers is managed in a safe manner.
  • Verification of goods received.
  • Documentation is maintained for every delivery to site.
  • Distribution or storage of goods in a organise and timely manner.
  • Management of pallets.

Coordinate purchasing and ordering to comply with Company financial and procurement policy, including:

  • Liaison with procurement team.
  • Sourcing from contracted and prequalified suppliers where possible.
  • Placing orders, sourcing quotes and providing information on the most cost-effective source for materials whilst ensuring that they are the best available item for the purposes required.
  • Developing good communication lines with all key suppliers and ensuring that product is tracked and delivered on time and that exceptions to DIFOT are managed through the appropriate organization lines internally and with the supplier.

About you:

To be successful in this position you will require the following skills/experience;

  • Certificate IV in Logistics/Warehousing or a related discipline, or equivalent training and industry experience.
  • Experience in SAP is highly desirable but not essential. 
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in supply chain activities including transportation, warehousing/logistics with a proven track record of making process improvements.
  • Experience in managing and maintaining inventories.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate and coordinate all requirements within a supply chain.
  • Experience in working in a dynamic production environment and proven ability to remain composed and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Computer skills with the capacity to use or learn systems.
  • A commitment to working cooperatively and respectfully in a multicultural workforce.
  • A willingness to work outside normal hours, including working night shifts if required.
