Packshed Assistant - WA

In this role you will be responsible for the supervision of post-harvest operations, by ensuring the fruit is packed, cooled, and stored within benchmark times to maximise quality, yield, Packline and operational efficiency.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Ensure daily, weekly, monthly analysis of dispatch, SOH & stock control
  • Organize daily dispatch and truck loading, following costumer’s requirements and paperwork’s
  • Finalize end of the day reports and reconcile data
  • Support Pack shed supervisor with admin documentations and records
  • Ensure WHS and QA standards are always adhered to
  • Communicate regularly with Pack shed supervisor regarding fruit quality, quantity and start time.
  • Prioritize efficiencies of pack line, packing staff and pack shed procedures to ensure maximum quality and yield, under Pack shed supervisor instructions

About You

  • Experience in a fruit packing operation and or Warehouse – desirable
  • Automation and Mechanical understanding of pack line
  • Dynamic person, with a sense of urgency
  • Working knowledge of cool chain management
  • Experience or a keen interest in the horticulture and produce industry.
  • Ability to work on your own
  • Ability to listen and communicate effectively & relate to a wide variety of cultures
  • Ability to identify opportunities to maximise efficiencies
  • Awareness and respect for compliance, food safety, and quality assurance requirements
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills - ability to take responsibility and time manage.
  • Strong computer skills - specifically word & excel
  • Driver’s licence
  • Forklift Ticket

What You Get in Return

This is a casual position, however those that are able to contribute positively to the team may have the opportunity to move to other roles on the farm as Costa continues to grow and expand its operations at the end of the busy harvest season.

How Will You Get Paid?

  • You will be paid an hourly rate in accordance with the role you will be undertaking.
  • Your hourly rate will be determined by the Costa Berries Enterprise Agreement with pay rates higher than the Horticulture Award
  • Weekly pay every Thursday by Bank transfer
  • Payslips are emailed at the same time to your nominated email address
  • Superannuation is paid in line with legislation
