Costa is Australia’s leading grower, packer and marketer of premium quality fresh fruit and vegetables.

Costa’s Curlwaa Packhouse is located in Curlwaa NSW (20 min drive from Mildura VIC) and operates from May to October each year packing fresh citrus fruit such as oranges, lemons, mandarins, tangelos, limes and grapefruit for both export and domestic markets.

Who we are looking for:

A hands-on maintenance technician who takes pride in modelling high standards of quality and safety to join Curlwaa Packhouse’s maintenance team.  The Maintenance Technician will be primarily responsible for performing both preventative and reactive maintenance, servicing, and repairs of citrus production line/specialist packaging machinery, bearings, seals etc to trade standards and, in compliance with safety regulations, to minimise breakdowns and improve equipment reliability and efficiency.

The availability to work a flexible roster including after hours and weekend work to attend any equipment breakdowns during operation, subject to peak season, is essential.

What you’ll be doing:

An understanding of reactive, preventative, and predictive maintenance systems/techniques and, the ability to diagnose and problem solve in an analytical, customer focused and time conscious manner, is critical to the success of this role.

Other responsibilities:

• Apply diagnostic and trouble shooting skills to identify production line/packaging machinery defects and malfunction causes to determine the most effective repair, replacement, or modification solution.  
• Implement preventative maintenance schedule and recommend any unplanned maintenance activities that require scheduling.
• Coordinate maintenance activities by approved third party vendors/suppliers, if required.
• Communicate proactively with Packhouse Manager to align repair and maintenance works with production operations.
• Attend all equipment breakdowns in a highly responsive manner to minimise lost production time.
• Conduct risk assessments relating to high-risk activities or equipment upgrade or installation. 
• Manage accurate maintenance and repair records.

What you’ll bring to the role:

We’re looking for someone with…

• Aptitude and experience in maintenance work with a trade qualification such as Certificate III in Automative Mechanical Technology – Light Vehicle or Certificate III in Engineering, preferable but not essential as on the job training will be provided.
• Sound knowledge of safe work practices and compliance with legislation.
