About the role

We are currently recruiting for a full-time maintenance fitter for our Murtho packshed. The role will involve carrying out all maintenance of packaging lines in the packshed, ensuring minimal stoppage and down time for the processing line, as well as responding to emergency machine break downs throughout Costa Murtho Packhouse.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all packing lines are performing to their optimum efficiency
  • Complete chosen repair efficiently and to a high standard
  • Carry out technical inspections of packaging line for preventative maintenance ensuring minimum stoppage time
  • Preventative maintenance on machines and equipment; as well as responding to emergency machine break downs throughout Costa Murtho Packhouse.
  • Liaise with Production key personal if maintenance works affect/delay production
  • Overhaul and repair of machines and equipment.
  • Ensuring machines and equipment on site are safe, working efficiently and fit for purpose. Maintain a clean and safe workplace
  • Understand and implement company’s policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties when required.

Required Qualifications and or Experience:

  • Trade Certificate 3 in Fitter.
  • Knowledge/Experience in Programmable Logic Controller’s (PLC’s).  
  • Have experience in machine troubleshooting / problem solving and fault finding.

  • Be punctual, reliable, and committed.
  • Have self-motivation and possess a strong work ethic.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Team orientated.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently either supervised or autonomously.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Confidence in making decisions.
  • Good attention to detail and quality.
