Harvest/Farm Administration Officer
Costa has an opportunity for a local resident to join the team in our 2PH business in Emerald as a Harvest/Farm Administration Officer.
Reporting to the Regional Farm Manager, the role of Harvest/Farm Administration Officer is integral to the administrative management of farm labour to ensure compliance with Horticulture Award 2020 and Fair Work Commission’s minimum wage guarantee. The timely recording of all piece rate activities with particular attention to harvest labour hours and related harvest data to ensure piece rate compliance is a critical activity for this role.
Daily communication will be required with Harvest Supervisors, Assistant Supervisors and Harvest Contractors ensuring that all the necessary daily information on labour activities that needs to be reported is collected and any issues are escalated in an appropriate and timely manner.
Attention to detail is critical particularly in the function of calculating average cohort earnings, reviewing all harvest data include poor performing workers and ensuring workers are supplied with new agreements when a rate adjustment for a task is necessary
Key Responsibilities include:
- Assist Farm Managers to create and roster work teams, email workers written notification of applicable piece rates and piece rate agreements and supply Costa and Contractor Harvest Supervisors with daily run sheets to record rostered work team’s hours and productivity;
- Regularly interact with external Contractors and their representatives to ensure daily run sheets are completed in a timely and accurate manner, escalating any issues for appropriate management action;
- Data entry of work, and worker, data to facilitate systematic generation of rosters and application of piece rates relevant to specific harvest activities as determined by Farm Managers;
- Analyse individual worker and worker cohort productivity and earnings data to identify performance and wage adjustments for Management review;
- Act as first point of contact for Costa Payroll requests regarding direct hire worker productivity and earnings data;
- Liaise with Contractors regarding labour hire worker data for accurate invoice reconciliation; and
- Other administrative duties as required.
- Certificate III in Business Administration;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills including interacting and working closely with people from diverse backgrounds including Non-English speaking staff requiring culturally sensitive communication;
- Strong attention to detail;
- High level of computer literacy especially with MS Office suite with a sound knowledge of standard office equipment;
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and to implement time management principles to prioritise work and meet deadlines;
