Here at Mushroom Exchange, we are dedicated to growing the highest quality mushrooms. Costa is currently hiring four new forklift operator positions within the Harvest team to assist in undertaking an exciting Harvest trial, exploring innovative technologies to enhance both quality and yield.

These advancements will help us maintain consistency and precision in our production, ensuring we continue to deliver the freshest, top-quality mushrooms to our customers with confidence to our customers.

About the role: 

This role reports directly to the Harvest Manager. As a Harvest Forklift Operator, your primary responsibility will be to safely transport mushroom beds to and from primary harvest locations.

You will support the operation using modern machinery, following precise instructions to ensure consistent flow of harvest production. Additionally, you will be tasked with general assistance in machine operation, including set-up, pack-up and cleaning.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assist with the day to day running of Harvest operations by maintaining efficiency rates equivalent to the rate of trays harvested per hour
• Maintain an accurate schedule, meeting all daily, weekly, and monthly production requirements.
• Undertake safe loading and unloading of trays onto the Harvest Machine
• Undertake safe transferring of trays to and from growing rooms.
• Operate all machinery and plant according to documented Safe Operating Procedures

About you:

• Forklift license essential, with minimum 2-year experience.
• Competent forklift operator
• Physically fit and willing to undergo pre-employment medical
• Team player with good communication skills
• Good problem-solving skills

Compensation:

The role will be initially paid at AWF Level 4 Casual rate $32.07
