Costa is seeking an experienced Farm Operations Manager to lead and sustain productive farming operations and resources of Costa’s largest citrus farm, which is staffed by both local and Pacific Island sourced labour, in the Riverland region of South Australia.

The role will report to the Farm Manager and be accountable for a range of key operational deliverables that incorporate a ‘people first’ safety culture and stringent food safety and quality outcome.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Farm Manager and work in collaboration with Agronomists and other support resources (OHS, HR, Finance) to develop and implement a farming operations plan.
• Implement critical horticulture programs and projects to meet the farm’s operational targets with a focus on staff safety and fruit quality at all times.
• Oversee daily farming operations by leading resources, monitoring work activities and setting appropriate priorities.
• Ensure appropriate work and training systems, processes and procedures are followed with any identified gaps addressed as a matter of priority.
• Inform the scheduling of farming operations such as spraying, crop protection, irrigation and repairs & maintenance.

What you’ll bring to the role:

• Diploma in Horticulture or Business Management is desirable but not essential.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a farm operations management role is preferred.
• Broad knowledge of best practice farm operations.  
• Well-developed organisational and people management skills.
• Excellent communication skills to train and supervise performance and productivity standards.
