The Costa Mushroom team is passionate about growing the best quality mushrooms. Our carefully managed crops are tendered by our highly skilled team of committed growers. Department B manages the processing of the compost and all pre-production responsibilities as well as managing the daily sanitation of the farm.

About the role 

We have an opportunity for a Supervisor to join a small and supportive team reporting to the Production Operations Manager in Casuarina, Western Australia. The hands-on role is focused upon the daily supervision of a small team and will involve and not be limited to ensuring that daily, weekly and monthly production plans and efficiency rates are met and quality standards are achieved. The successful candidate will ideally be a good problem solver, a good communicator as well as being a team player who is interested in pursuing a stable secure career. Please note weekend work and public holidays are required.

The keys aspects of the role are as follows;

  • Ensuring daily, weekly and monthly production plans and efficiency rates are met
  • Resolving daily workflow issues ensuring efficient running of production lines
  • Maintaining open and honest communication with departmental supervisor and the Production Operations Manager
  • Assisting the department supervisor in accurate stock take and completing all paperwork including usage, received and weekly/monthly stock takes
  • Assisting in SWP and risk assessment development
  • Operation of machinery as per SWPs
  • Ensuring appropriate staffing levels
  • Assist in the performance management of team members (when required)
  • Provision of support to departmental supervisor and Production Operations Manager with the operations in relieving areas as required
  • Ability to work under limited supervision and independently yet also work well as part of a team
  • Report all incidents, accidents and near misses in accordance with the WHS policy
  • Compliance with all Company policies and procedures

 The successful candidate will have:

  • 3-5 years' experience in a supervisory role preferred
  • Must demonstrate positive leadership capability in addition to always modelling the Behavioral Standard and Code of business conduct
  • Excellent communication
  • High levels of attention to detail
  • Planning, organising, and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritise competing tasks
  • Commitment to Health, Safety and Quality policies and procedures
  • High Risk (Forklift) & Front- End Loader licence (preferred)
