Assistant Farm Coordinator - Corindi

About the role:  

The ideal candidate will be motivated, hands on and able to work under pressure. The assistant co-ordinator will provide general support to the operations function at our berry farm in Corindi. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and supporting various activities related to the project team and planting operations. You will ensure tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to required standards while meeting deadlines and budget constraints.

 Projects/Establishment Activities

Support in the supervision of staff daily activities where required to ensure activities undertaken are completed to specification

  • Meet agreed timelines for various projects
  • Liaise with Project Manager and Team Coordinators as required to plan and execute operations whilst maintaining budget
  • Ensure all activities are implemented as directed by the manager and leads
  • Perform to required standard while achieving KPI targets
  • Operate machinery as required and train others to perform the same operations 
  • Ensure all work sites are left clean and free of materials at the end of each task

Canopy/Planting Activities

  • Support in team supervision and regular review of processes and equipment to identify potential improvement opportunities
  • Provide regular communication to the planting coordinator regarding task progress and performance.
  • Assist in this development of rosters for team members and liaise with the coordinator to develop work plans to ensure teams are working appropriate work patterns.
  • Ensure accurate records are kept, uploaded, and delivered as required.
  • Responsible activities and areas – Planting logistics requirements including plant movements utilising tractors/trailers/trucks, unloading and storage of supply deliveries, LC crate movements, raspberry and blueberry plant supply between trucks/potting shed/nursery.

General Operational Activities

  • Supporting Operations: assisting across the Operational department where required. Additional other duties, consistent with the position, where required and/or requested by the Manager.
  • Collaboration and Meetings: Attending meetings to discuss and plan operational performance.
  • Teamwork and Development: Supporting colleagues through training, feedback, and fostering a positive team culture.
  • Leadership: Support a culture of care within the team, acknowledging success, driving performance, and showing appreciation for hard work.
  • Compliance: Following company policies and procedures

  • Agricultural/horticultural experience
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft office skills.
